First Touch Soccer is Hiring a Youth Soccer Coach Near Fountain Valley, CA

Summary: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth Soccer Coach to join our team and inspire young players between the ages of 4 and 14 to develop their soccer skills, foster teamwork, and build a love for the game. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting engaging and fun-filled training sessions, working with players of all abilities, and creating a positive learning environment that promotes both personal and team growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate training sessions that focus on technical skills, tactical understanding, and physical development for players aged 4 to 14.
  • Conduct soccer drills, exercises, and scrimmage games to enhance players' individual skills and teamwork abilities.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and encouraging atmosphere for players, ensuring that all participants feel valued and motivated to improve.
  • Assess the strengths and weaknesses of individual players and provide constructive feedback to help them progress and reach their potential.
  • Encourage a strong sportsmanship culture, teaching players the importance of fair play, respect for opponents, and adherence to rules.
  • Work with players of varying abilities, offering tailored support and guidance to challenge and develop each individual appropriately.
  • Collaborate with assistant coaches, parents, and the club management to coordinate team activities, competitions, and events effectively.
  • Attend regular meetings with the coaching staff to review progress, discuss strategies, and evaluate player development.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with parents, addressing their concerns, and providing updates on players' progress and team activities.
  • Comply with the club's policies, guidelines, and code of conduct at all times.
  • Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Prior coaching experience in youth soccer, preferably with players between the ages of 4 and 14.
  • Possess a strong understanding of soccer fundamentals, rules, and tactics, as well as knowledge of age-specific player development.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with players of different skill levels and effectively tailor coaching methods to meet their needs.
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to fulfilling evening and weekend coaching commitments.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, energetic personality to inspire and motivate young athletes.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to communicate effectively with children and parents.
  • Passion for youth development and a genuine desire to foster a love for soccer in young players.
  • Possession of relevant coaching certifications and licenses (e.g., USSF, UEFA, NSCAA) is a plus.
  • A background check and clearance may be required depending on the club or organization's policies.
